The NGPP has a 1 Gbps network backbone, with local and international internet and Internet2 connectivities via SingAREN.

SingAREN (The Singapore Advanced Research and Education Network), funded by A*STAR, is a national initiative since 1997 to create a high-speed broadband network platform to support research and education as well as advanced network technology development in Singapore. It serves users from academic, research organisations and industry. SingAREN maintains links to the USA, Taiwan and Korea. With these links, SingAREN is able to communicate with the Internet2 community in the USA and other communities in the Asia-Pacific region.
